    On July 21, 2020, South Korea KC issued a new announcement 2020-0138, which officially established and abolished the Korean battery standard.

    1. From 2020.07.21, officially accept the 17th version of CB to KC

    From 2020.07.21 to 2020.12.31, it is the time when the old and new standards are available at the same time. Starting from 2021, only the 17 version of CB will be accepted for transfer

    2. KC 62133-2 for batteries used in personal mobile devices (except electric bicycles) with speeds below 25km/h will be applicable from August 1, 2021.

    related information:

    1. The original KC 62133 standard (CB only applies to IEC62133:2012) will be abolished on December 31, 2020.

    2. The newly formulated KC 62133-2 version standard (CB only applies to IEC 62133-2: 2017) will come into force on July 21, 2020.

    3. From July 21, 2020 to December 31, 2020, KC 62133 and KC 62133-2 can be used in parallel.

    4. The Korean KC certificate that has been issued is permanently valid

    5. During the transition period, IEC 62133: 2012 and IEC 62133-2: 2017 versions of CB to KC certification can be accepted. However, from January 1, 2021, you can only apply in accordance with the new standard (KC 62133-2), which means that you can only use IEC62133-2: 2017 version of CB to transfer KC.
