CCC Compulsory Certification/Adjustment of Telecom Equipment Access Directory: Lithium ion batteries, mobile power supplies and power adapters/chargers are included in China's Compulsory Product Certification Directory

On September 23, 2022, the State Council issued the Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Deepening the Reform of the Management System of the Electronic and Electrical Industry (GBF [2022] No. 31). According to the notice, since September 23, the 9 types of products allocated from the CCC directory will not be controlled at the level of compulsory certification. The application for compulsory certification involved in the process will be stopped, and the certification authority will no longer issue certificates. Enterprises can conduct voluntary certification if necessary. It is estimated that mandatory certification activities can be carried out for new battery products in 90 days due to factors such as the WTO meeting and the updating of certification implementation rules.
