Some enterprises have a cognitive misunderstanding: they think that the whole machine is not included in the CCC directory, and the built-in lithium battery does not need to be certified either. In fact, the lithium battery certification for portable electronic products (limited to audio and video and information technology categories) is independent of the entire machine. For instance, even if the speaker product has been removed from the CCC directory, its internal lithium battery still needs to pass the test of the GB 31241-2022 standard.

Special handling for cross-border maintenance and export scenarios

In overseas product repair scenarios, if damaged batteries need to be transported back to China for repair, an application for exemption from CCC certification can be made in accordance with the "Regulations on the Administration of Compulsory Product Certification". Enterprises need to prepare in advance materials such as the export certificate of the complete machine and the maintenance contract, and apply to the certification body for the exemption certificate.

For lithium batteries that are only for export, domestic CCC certification is not a mandatory requirement, but enterprises should pay attention to the regulatory differences in the target market.

Some enterprises tend to confuse the boundaries between "portable" and "non-portable" products. For instance, lithium batteries used in power tools do not fall within the category of portable electronic products and thus do not require CCC certification. However, portable energy storage power supplies (such as 10kg energy storage bags for camping) need to be certified. In addition, although lithium batteries for electronic cigarettes are not within the scope of CCC for the time being, enterprises still need to pay attention to the subsequent policy developments.
