    Basic standards and certification items for CQC certification of lithium batteries

    Author:中認聯科 time:2020-07-08 Ctr:2028

    CQC mark certification is one of the voluntary product certification services carried out by the China Quality Certification Center. The CQC mark is applied to indicate that the products meet the relevant quality, safety, performance, electromagnetic compatibility and other certification requirements. The scope of certification involves mechanical equipment and electrical equipment. , Electrical appliances, electronic products, textiles, building materials and more than 500 products. The GB31241 standard for lithium batteries began to be enforced on August 1, 2015, replacing the previous 3306 standard. The certification rule implemented is CQC certification. (It can also be said that the test standard for CQC certification is GB31241) So how do you apply for CQC certification for lithium batteries?

    CQC certification GB31241 applicable product range:

    This standard applies to the following portable electronic products lithium-ion batteries and battery pack examples are as follows:

    (a) Portable office products: notebook computers, PDAs, etc.;

    (b) Mobile communication products: mobile phones, cordless phones, Bluetooth headsets, intercoms, etc.;

    (c) Portable audio and video products: portable TV sets, portable DVD players, MP3/MP4 players, cameras, video cameras, voice recorders, etc.;

    (d) Other portable products: electronic navigators, digital photo frames, game consoles, e-books, etc.

    The above list is only an example, and the portable electronic products include the above listed products, but are not limited to the above products.

    CQC certification GB31241 is not applicable to:

    For lithium ion batteries or battery packs for portable electronic products used in special fields such as vehicles, ships, and aircraft, and for special fields such as medical, mining, and subsea operations, when there is no special standard for this product, this standard can be adopted or quoted ( For reference only), but there may be additional requirements.

    There are three CQC certification modes, and applicants can choose one.

    Certification mode 1: Type test

    The basic certification process includes:

    1. Application for certification

    2. Product type test

    3. Evaluation and approval of certification results

    4. Review

    Certification mode 2: Type test + initial factory inspection + post-certification supervision

    The basic process of certification includes:

    1. Application for certification

    2. Product type test

    3. Initial factory inspection

    4. Evaluation and approval of certification results

    5. Supervision after certification

    Certification mode 3: Type test + post-certification supervision

    The basic process of certification includes:

    1. Application for certification

    2. Product type test

    3. Evaluation and approval of certification results

    4. Supervision after certification

    The main battery test items:

    1. Discharge performance (such as 20℃ discharge performance, high and low temperature discharge performance)

    2. Charge retention ability

    3. Cycle life

    4. Environmental adaptability test (such as temperature cycle, constant damp heat, vibration, collision, free fall)

    5. Altitude simulation test

    6. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) test

    7. Safety performance test (such as overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, short circuit protection performance)

    8. Battery safety requirements (such as heavy object shock, thermal shock, overcharge, overdischarge, large current discharge, short circuit, squeeze, forced discharge)

    Air transport battery test standards:

    UN38.3 (UNDOT) "United Nations Dangerous Goods Transport Test and Standards Manual" Part 3 Section 38.3-Lithium battery requirements

    Due to the safety risks involved in the transportation of lithium batteries, international agencies such as the United Nations, IATA, and the State Administration of Civil Aviation and other relevant domestic departments require lithium batteries to be transported in accordance with IATA DGR requirements for UN38.3 and other tests.
